Benefits of Endurance Exercise - Running
When you think about endurance training, are you haunted with images of yourself, gaunt and exhausted, dragging over miles of hot and dusty (or maybe cold and snowy) roads? For many of us who don't care about being so super thin or having exceptional athletic stamina - endurance exercise may be synonymous with unpleasant.

The most obvious outcome of regular endurance exercise is the ability to do more vigorous aerobic activity for longer periods of time. If you are out of shape, you may find it difficult at first. But as you gradually increase the activity whether walking or running, your body adapts and you can exercise at a faster pace for longer time.
People of all ages benefit from physical activity. It doesn't matter how out-of-shape you feel or how long you have been inactive.
Physical activity increases your chances of living longer. Exercise can help you control your blood pressure, blood sugar, and your weight. It can help raise your "good" cholesterol. It can also help prevent heart disease, colorectal cancer, and type 2 diabetes.
And that's not all. Getting more active can:- Be fun
- Help you look your best
- Improve your sleep
- Make your bones, muscles, and joints stronger
- Lower your chances of becoming depressed
- Reduce falls and arthritis pain
- Help you feel better about yourself
